First, let me say that I am so happy and honored to be here. I know that sounded a little like I was about to accept an Oscar, but… I really mean it. Being here on this, my very own blog dedicated to my blossoming copywriting career, is a real kick in the pants.
It’s not just that there’s no “.wordpress” in my domain name (a major thrill for me, I’ll admit it). It’s that this new blog represents a major step forward in both my personal and professional growth. Since I had my oldest daughter nearly seven years ago and made the decision to stay home with her for three years, I’ve been on a journey of sorts. Trying to figure out who I am, and what it is that I really want to do — aside from being the best darn mom and wife I can be, of course!
Some people might say that you can’t get too personal on your business website or blog. I say hogwash. I mean, I’ll definitely keep it clean.
But I refuse to create a wall of words — designed to impress potential clients or inflate my ego — that ultimately stands between me and, well… you.
Instead, I’ll take a risk. I’ll let you get to know me, my growing body of work, and my style. And I’ll hope that you think of me when you need fresh, new words for your business.
It’d be an honor just to be nominated.

I love it! Professionalism in dress and demeanor has its place, for sure. Especially with our esteemed senior citizens. I know from working at a brokerage firm (in client service) that they do not appreciate casual Fridays. They think that if you’re causal about dress that you’ll be casual with their money. That said, everybody else pretty much loved them.
This is a new day and age. It’s good to see that you’re thinking and acting outside the box. Doing things in a fresh, new way that fits you and presents you as you are to your potential clients.
Best of luck to you! Get ‘em!
@Retro Heather:
Heather, thanks so much for your comment and encouragement. I realize that if I want to stand out a bit from the crowd, I need to look and act differently. I’m hoping my cool Citrus theme helps back me up on that, too — fresh ideas, fresh look, fresh fruit… get it?
Keep up the amazing work you’re doing on your blog — I know it’s leading you somewhere big! You’re going places, for sure…
